“A good hotel at the wrong place”
We just visited the island La Palma, which is a small island west of Tenerife. Maybe we should not have gone there in winter, maybe we should not have gone there at all. It was very cold and very rainy. We were told it is generally like that, and that if this island is green (contrary to the other Canary Islands) it is because it rains a lot on this island. The funny thing is that island is small (in fact it is a very high island full of volcanos) and that if you go on the other side of the island, the weather is much better. We did it and it was true. On the east part of the island it rains, on the west part it does not. The mountains retains the clouds which generally arrive from the north-east. The problem was that we were at the Parador la Palma, a very comfortable hotel, which is ... on the east coast.
