 Hotel Sol La Palma
Hotel Sol La Palma:
“Dreadful holidays”
We spent 5 nights in January 2005 at Sol La Palma. It was a bad experience, our worse vacations.
The hotel is in a place called Puerto Naos, which is just a group of houses on a beach of black sand. One has the impression to be at an end of the world. The hotel, built in 1990, looks quite old. We took half board (we had reserved via the Melia site which, by the way, is giving huge discounts). The rooms are just OK. The breakfast and the dinner are given in a badly-lit room. It is a buffet, and if the food is plentiful, it is of a very poor quality. We did not get anything good in the 5 days we were there. They had a “Spanish” evening, an “Oriental” evening and a “Canarian” evening, but we did not see the difference. It was not at all refined and most of the times, it was not hot enough. Same thing for the breakfast, where you can get fried eggs which were cooked 20 minutes before, and which are cold. It is supposed to be a 4 stars hotel, but it should not have more than 3 (weak) stars. We did not pay much because of the discount we received, but even if we were paid, we would not return to this place. The clients were mainly German and British and were old to very old.
